If you’re a dog person (hi!), you know how important it is to have a good pet supply store nearby. Whether you forgot to order more kibble or your dog’s favorite toy has become nothing but a pile of stuffing on the floor, a go-to pet shop is a must.

Our family dog is a chocolate lab named Avery. Her favorite hobby is hanging out in our fenced backyard with all her toys. She takes her duties as a retriever very seriously.

Unfortunately, it’s a lot more exciting to bring your toys outside than it is to bring them back in. Avery often goes to retrieve her rain- or snow-soaked friends, only to discover that they aren’t allowed back in the house. (I mean, ugh. Who came up with that rule?!)

Thankfully, here in the Meridian area, we have easy access to The Kings Beagle Pet Boutique. When the last of Avery’s toys has been sequestered, I make a quick run to this gem of a pet supply shop to pick up more.

Well… it’s always supposed to be a quick run. But it rarely goes that way.

The Kings Beagle carries all the snacks, pillows, collars, leashes, vests, and toys your pup could ever need. It’s like Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory for pets. Plus, they carry all kinds of cute decorations, which make perfect gifts for the dog lovers in your life (including you!). I’ve been known to spend a full hour just browsing the shelves.

Now, when I say this place is like a chocolate factory, I mean it. Bakery-style dog treats are kept in a glass display case so you can order just the right number of your pup’s favorite flavors. They also carry pig ears (great for older dogs), antlers (excellent for dental hygiene), and more.

As a realtor, I meet a lot of family dogs—and the humans who care for them, of course. If they’re new to the area, I always give them directions to The Kings Beagle. Moving is overwhelming enough without worrying about the comfort of our four-legged friends.
